Description
The Mistletoe Tyrannulet (Zimmerius parvus) is a small flycatcher found from Central Panama to northern Colombia. It has pale eyes, a curved black bill, a whitish supercilium, and is olive-green above with yellow edging on the wings, narrowing towards the tips. It has no wing bars. Its breast is grey with faint streaks and pale yellow below, and its feet and legs are dark gray. The nest is oval shaped with a side entrance, and is lined with soft pale fibres to make it cozy. They eat insects, fruit, and mistletoe drupes.
This Mistletoe Tyrannulet (previously incorrectly identified as a Southern Bentbill) was photographed in Gamboa, Panama, Central America, as it was gathering soft fibres for its nest.
