Description
This Southern Lapwing was photographed in Gamboa, Panama, Central America. It is a crested wading/shore bird with a grayish-brown back tinged with bronze, black markings on its face and breast, and pink legs, eye ring, and bill. Their bellies are white. They have spurs under their wings which are exposed to intimidate predators.
