This pink torch ginger plant in various stages of bloom, was photographed in La Fortuna, Costa Rica, Central America. It is a species of herbaceous perennial plant and can also be called ginger flower, torch lily, Philippine wax flower, or porcelain rose. Its showy pink flowers are used in decorative arrangements or in the preparation of Asian foods or herbal extracts.
